The family of Morton Gervais (Patrick) Beazley, age 95 of Halifax, a WWII veteran, is sad to announce his passing on November 2, 2013, at the QEII Hospital. He was a son of the late Gervais and Anita (Hart) Beazley. Morton is survived by his daughter, Sharon Tschaikowsky (Tony) and granddaughters, Karna and Taiya of Ottawa; his sisters; Jean (Albert) Bourgeois of Ottawa and Janet (George) Heard of Hammonds Plains; his cousin, Peggy (Leo) Tough; his longtime friend, Ed Giles and his family, Freda Giles, Mike Giles, Philip Giles and Yvette (Tom) Hyam-Giles as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roland, Earl, Donald and his sisters, Donna, Margaret, Daisy, Hilda and Esther.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531) on Saturday, November 9 from 12-2 pm, memorial service to follow at 2 pm, with reception immediately after. Mort was a great man and friend to Barry and I,we spent a lot of time with Mort,going to hockey games and other activities.Even though we were not able to spend as much time with him in the last few years he was always in our hearts.Love and miss you always Mort.May you Rest in Peace.from Barry & Mary Fitzgerald.

A lovely man! Sometimes acerbic. Sometimes cantankerous- but a spirit and zest for life one will never forget. I was privileged to be in his company. His haunting version of "Autumn Leaves" is forever etched in my heart.

Morton was a faithful member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He will be remembered for his long service during WW II and for his faithful attendance at Regimental Reunions. Rest in peace; thank you for your faithful service to Canada.
