Nancy Elizabeth Dodson Draper, 79, of Fairystone Park Hwy in Bassett, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Stanleytown Health Care Center. She was born in Martinsville, July 19, 1933, the daughter of Harry William Dodson and Daisy Ellen Joyce Dodson, both deceased. She was employed by DuPont and also retired from Bassett Furniture Company where she was an office administrator. Nancy was a member of Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the chancel choir for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas G. Draper of the residence; four daughters, Lisa Ellen Pearman of Ridgeway, Jane Elizabeth Wilson of Bassett, Judy Kay Edmonds of Collinsville and Linda Faye Johnson of Fieldale; two sons, Thomas William Draper of Apex, NC and Kevin Michael Draper of Hillsborough, NC and five grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Ricky Randall officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Abbey.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chancel Choir of Bassett Memorial United Methodist Church, 2805 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA 24055 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 308 Craighead Street, Suite 104, Danville, VA 24541.
