Reorganizing my books and of course had to sit down and peruse Remembrances Revisited when I came across it. I often over the years have done just that. It's the story of a place I've never visited and of people I'll never have met, but told with such warmth and love I feel as if I have.

Nancy was my mother's cousin. Their mothers were sisters. Clara Louise (Bondurant) Fraley was my mother's mother. They lived in Roanoke. My parents met at Roanoke College and my mother moved to NJ where my father was from. Both passed in 2012.

My mother spoke fondly of Nancy. Of her gift for writing and her career as an educator. And we were introduced at a Bondurant family reunion in Roanoke in the summer of 1990, which was held at the College and had been organized by my great-uncle Bob Bondurant and his lovely wife Ginny. I found Nancy to be a very nice woman and great to talk with. I truly enjoyed meeting her.

I am so sorry for your loss. And I wanted to express that, but also that now as has been the case for 25 years, I can open up a book she personally signed over to me and get some joy reading about the Valley and it's colorful denizens. Nancy had a special gift, and I hope you find some solace in reading some of what she authored, perhaps in knowing others share your love and admiration for her.

May the Lord bless and keep you. May you find comfort in your loss.

Nancy was a very special and talented person whom I had the pleasure of knowing and appreciating as a friend and business partner. Her vibrancy, creativity, positive spirit and commitment to excellence came though in her career as a teacher and member of our community. As a writer she was gifted and her written words will live on for many years for people to enjoy and learn from. My thoughts are with the family and all of us who had the pleasure of knowing Nancy and benefitting from the many ways she has touched our lives.

What a wonderful teacher Mrs. Jones was. I still love and remember all of my English teachers at Turner Ashby; Mrs. Sacra, Mr. Lewis, Ms. Weaver and Mrs. Jones.
After all these years Mrs. Jones' encouragement remains... after all this time she is still a part of us and has been woven into the fabric of our lives.
I also remember the good days Marty and I ran track together. May the Lord, family, and friends He sends your way comfort you and the rest of her family.
I have such wonderful memories of my years at Turner Ashby. Thank you forever, Mrs. Jones. I have been blessed because you were a part of my life, and from the day I walked into your classroom.

I have very fond memories of Mrs. Jones from when she taught and was the head of the English Department at Turner Ashby High School. In fact, we taught in adjoining classrooms after the school moved to the Bridgewater facility. I also visited her at her home in Rawley Springs several times.

She was a very kind and gracious lady.

This wonderful and inspiring lady was my homeroom teacher my freshman year at Turner Ashby High School, and later was my honors English teacher. She taught me a lot about a lot of things, and, if I can put even two coherent sentences together, Mrs. Jones is the reason why. I love you.

With love and deepest condolences to the Bondurant and Jones Families.
