KLOS (SCHWARTZ, TALLANT), NANCY CAROL September 1, 1938 - June 20, 2012
Nancy left this world with the knowledge and serenity of the mutual love of her surviving children Kathleen Ann (Watson Cotter) and Matthew Karl, and grandchildren Alexandra Mae and Paul Andrew Watson. Preceeded in death by her parents Lawrence Klos and Lucy May Klos (McManus), husband Tom Tallant of Garland, Texas; sons David and Andrew, sisters Margaret, Alice, and Mary-Ann, and brother Tom. Survived by daughter Kathleen and son Matthew, sister Barbara and brother Larry, dear friends Shirley Bowen and Gwen Sepmoree, and her strong faith in our Lord. Mom was a gifted gardnener and her flower beds were admired by many who drove by her home on Edison Street in Dexter. She was also a gifted artist of multiple media; if she saw something she was interested in trying she would do it, and with remarkable results. Mom was also a friend to all animals, great and small, and would go out of her way to save an injured bird, squirrel or any other unfortunate creature she happened upon. The squirrels, deer and other wildlife were frequently 'tamed' by her, and would literally eat out of her hand. Her family and friends remember her gift for decorating and her eye for the beauty in the world, wherever it might find her. She had many careers over the course of her life, but those she was most fond of were of the creative sort: floral arranging, catering, volunteering for the arts. Her Catholic faith was always a huge part of her life; as a young woman she had initially planned to enter the convent. Nancy then fell in love and a marriage proposal (and the dream to have many children of her own one day) caused her to re-consider (her children are grateful for that decision, although they are sure she would have served God humbly and with all her heart). Open Visitation for Nancy will be held at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Home in Dexter, Michigan on Monday, June 25th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in the Village of Dexter (Dover and Fourth) on Tuesday, June 26th, at 11:00 AM, with open visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM, prior to Mass. Those wishing to honor Nancy's memory are welcome to make donations in her name to The Humane Society of Huron Valley.
