Naomi Lee Brasher Padon Parrish, 90 of St. Matthews, in Louisville, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Baptist Health in Louisville. She was born January 3, 1924 in Marion, Kentucky, she was the second oldest of six children.

At a young age she married William (Bill) Padon, they had two sons; Michael and Gregory. A daughter, Judy Michelle, that died shortly after birth.
Naomi and Bill moved to Louisville in 1961, for Bill to take a new position. They quickly became members of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, where Naomi has continued to be a member for 53 years.
At CHBC, she taught intermediate girls in Sunday School, and held many offices in her Sunday school classes, including social chairperson where she along with many others hosted luncheons and dinners.
She was a regular model for Gina's and modeled apparrell for Stewart's and Bychs womens depts. She was a member of the Crescent Hill Women's Club for several years as well.

When Bill was the Commissioner of Agriculture and the Commissioner of Education for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, she hosted several parties and events, as well as events for the Lion's Club. She traveled
over 42 years around the country along side Bill when he served as President of Lyons International. The highlight of these travels took them to Japan, where the culture and women's roles in that country was an eye opener for a girl
from Kentucky!

Naomi's greatest adventure was while living in Paducah, she was approached by a man, in the grocery store who asked her to come to the Cobb Hotel, and interview to be in a movie being shot along side the river right there in Western Kentucky.
Bill was not a fan of this idea, but, she and a friend went to the interview, and she was hired as a under study for the role of Bridget Bazean.

Along with actors such as John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Debbie Reynolds, and a list of others, she was on set every day for two weeks during the filming. SO if you ever watch the movie, How the west was won, watch for the girl who runs into the cave, and pushes
Jimmy Stewart into a hole!

Naomi and Bill were married short of 50 years. She soon met Jimmy Parrish, who she had known for several years through the Lions Club. Jimmy moved to Louisville from Russellville, and they were married in 1996. Together they had many travels and enjoyed socializing with friends until his recent passing in March of this year.

Naomi lived a long and fullfilling life.

She is survived by her son, Greg Padon (Kim), step-sons; Randall Parrish (Paula) of Russellville and Robert Parrish (Tammy) of Nashville, TN.
Her grandsons; Charles Padon of Louisville and Michael T. Padon of Las Vegas. Her 6 step-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her brother; Leon Brasher (Doris) of Fredonia, KY, and many nieces and nephews that brought much joy to her life.

Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 16th, 2014 in the Santuray of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206, with interment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11 to Noon on Saturday at the church.

The family requestes expressions of sympathy in the form of contributions to the memorial fund of her church, Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206

"Naomi was my mother's step sister. We visited with her a couple of times in Louisville over the past few years. She was a warm hearted, classy lady, who..." George Dubovich (Valparaiso, IN)
