Nathan Joseph Allemand, Sr., age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Mr. Allemand was a native of Lockport, LA and was a resident of Kenner, LA for the past 38 years. Beloved husband of Gail Thomas Allemand. Father of Nathan J. Allemand, Jr., Elizabeth A. Velasquez (Anthony) and the late Dana M. Allemand. Stepfather of Melissa R. Mangipano (the late Robert), Sherri A. Rolf and Robert "Mike" Rolf, Sr. (Ashley). Son of the late Alvin Pierre Allemand and Annie Griffin Allemand. Brother of Mae Rose Chiasson (Norman), Geraldine Pierce (Herbert), Joyce Clark (Joe), Daryl Allemand and the late Lawrence Allemand (the late Shirley), Doris A. Hebert (Junius) and Norris Allemand. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Allemand retired from the oil field, was a U.S. Army veteran and an avid Saints fan. He was an all-around good guy and he will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel. Interment will be in Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society. The online guestbook is available at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
