Nathan Nix Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2018.

Nathan was born in Hope, Arkansas and later moved to Las Cruses, New Mexico where he attended Las Cruses High School and made many lifelong friends. Upon joining the U.S. Army he was stationed in New Jersey where he met the love of his life and instantly began a family.

Nathan had a personality that could light up a room and make everyone he came in contact with feel special. So when he pursued sales positions in several companies it was not surprising that he ultimately rose to the position of National Vice President of Webco where he received countless recognitions and honors. Although his work was very important to him, family was number one. His greatest joy was time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always there for us ready to help and offer words of advice if needed. Nathan was a very strong man who faced his many challenges and difficulties with strength and grace.

We will always remember his love of golf, fantasy football, cars, television, casinos, guns and making people feel special.

Preceding Mr. Nix in death are his beloved wife Rosemarie Mariano Nix; parents, Nathan Olan Nix, Sr. and Flossie Hill Nix; sisters, Patricia Volkmer and Mary Beth Nix; and brother, Michael Nix.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Denice McFarland with husband Keith, Wayne Nix with wife Wanda, Patrick Nix with wife Rachel and Sean Nix; grandchildren, Brittany Myers, Ashlee Linsley, Evan McFarland, Nathan Nix, Jordan Kinard, Taylor Nix, Kelly McFarland, Morgan Nix, Patrick Nix, Jr. and Matthew Nix; great grandchildren, Dallas, Wilder, Adeline, Colby and Zoey; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.

A Life Celebration service for Nathan is scheduled for 11 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. His grandson, Evan McFarland will serve as officiant. The family will welcome friends from 10 AM to 11 AM on the day of the service.

Serving as pallbearers for Wednesday's service are Patrick Nix, Jr., Matthew Nix, Nathan Nix, Brian Linsley, Thomas Kinard and Chris Myers.

The family would like to thank all the many caregivers, medical personnel and Christus Hospice for all their service and compassion.

Denice, Sorry for your loss.

God knew the need for someone
To add humor to our hearts.
Someone who would spice
Our lives with laughter and mischief.
Someone we could run to
For special comfort and friendship;
Someone whose life would
Touch ours in a
Hundred different ways...
So He made Uncles.

I will miss you so much Uncle Nate!

My thoughts and prayers to all the families.
Love, Debbie
