Fisherman's Prayer
God, grant that I may love to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's safe landing net, I'm peacefully asleep, that in His mercy I be judged as big enough to keep.

Hello Everyone,
Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things we all have to go through and all of your condolences have helped all of us in the family get through it. Dad loved us all very much, but he did not like being the center of attention and would probably not be happy with us talking about him. So, we will keep this short and sweet.
Our father was a hardworking man and although when growing up we had a fear of getting in trouble he was a man not afraid of showing us love. I believe he was tough because he wanted us to grow up and be upstanding adults, however looking back I remember many times of great love and laughter that we shared. He adored our mother and had no problem telling us how she was the best, best wife, best mother, best cook and he was right. We witnessed this by his almost daily affectionate pat on her “culo” and kiss on the neck.
He was also a compassionate man taking in our cousin when he was going through a rough time. We were a full house as it was with 4 children and only 3 bedrooms, in a small semi-detached home, it was tight but we made room and those were really great times.
Dad had a love of nature which is something that all of us my sister and brothers have. Growing up I don't remember ever going to the beach but we did go on picnics where there was always a pond for fishing, which was his passion. We went apple and strawberry picking and I remember going cherry picking one time and Dad took out a couple of cherries that were attached by the stems and wore them on his ears for our drive home so a sense of humour was most definitely present, at times his humour was very wicked and maybe some time later I can tell you some of those stories.
We would like to thank everyone involved in helping our family during this difficult time. Through your actions, your words of experience, and your warm hugs. These have given us much needed strength to endure our pain.
• First our wonderful family, dearest friends, and understanding work colleagues
• The CCAC of North York and specifically, Dad's nurse Cristina Chan (whom he called “Bella”), and his palliative care doctor, Dr. Jonathan Abrams (Dad said he was the best doctor!)
• All the workers and staff at Marble, Tile and Terrazzo Local Union #31 for their support, especially Guida Correia for all her hard work and years of experience in assisting the families of past, present, and future workers
• And lastly, the WSIB who have shown us nothing but professionalism and compassion
We have so much education and information sources today, please take the time to think about Health & Safety, in every aspect of your life. Let the deaths of all working men and women, be not in vain.
We would also like to say a special, deep, profound, no words can really describe, “THANK YOU” to our mother. Mama, you have shown us what love, devotion, and loyalty truly is. Your strength and courage to fulfill Daddy's last wishes has forever touched us. We are so proud of you!!
While it will take our family a while to deal with his passing we all must move forward....so I say Nazzareno Pivato, figlo, marito, Neno, Daddy, Nonno, Fratello and Amico….. we love you…..we thank you for loving us!
