Neil Boyd Glass, 82, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital
Neil was born in Winston Salem, NC on November 13, 1931, the son of Marion Elmer and Clellie Idessi Glass. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he worked as a diesel mechanic with Piedmont Ford and the US Truck and Trailer until his retirement. Neil was a member of Gate City Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #656 and the Shrine. Neil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Neil is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Betty Atkins Glass; children; Douglas Boyd Glass and wife Bobbi, Amy Mitchem and husband Jack, Evie Morgan and husband Ben, Kim Widner, Cathy Wilson and husband Terry and Daniel Edwards and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, 3:00 p.m. at Gate City Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park with full military and Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm till service time at the church on Sunday.
