I think of Aunt Ruth often and tell stories of our growing up with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Larry. In these stories was their laughter, joy of life, and lots of love. I thank them everyday because this is what I want to pass onto my nieces and nephews growing up that same love of life and laughter.

My sincere condolences to the family on the loss of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend on Sunday but would like to reflect on the life of Ruth Yuzwak.

I knew Auntie Ruth for almost 50 years. She was an elegant well-spoken lady who was eager to talk and hear what we had to say and ever so proud of her son, Terry and daughter-in-law, Linda and their lovely family.

I loved the way she would be busy while wearing her demi-glasses and then would stop and look over top of the glasses to talk or send a quick wit our way! She was so much fun to be with!

Over the years we came to know Auntie Ruth as a great hostess always inviting our family for Sunday dinner. Our children loved going there because she always took a keen interest in them and enjoyed how they played in what they called the ‘play room' downstairs.

More recently Auntie Ruth stopped travelling to our home in Oshawa but we had the best phone conversations ever! We would spend at least 45 - 60 minutes on the phone together. She had a way of making you feel important to her by asking about everyone in the family and would then proudly share her family's news.

Auntie Ruth has left all of us with many happy memories of her. Knowing that she has left this life makes me feel sad but I pray that she is now reunited with the love of her life, her dear Larry.

Condolences to Terry and family. My family and I have many fond memories of Mrs. Yuzwak as we were all growing up on Woodward Ave in Willowdale those many years ago and of seeing her again at many neighbourhood reunions since those days.

I thought I saw her face today
In the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say
“Her work on earth is done.”

I thought I heard her voice today
Then laugh her hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say
“There's peace little one at last.”

I thought I felt her touch today
In the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say
“The spirit never dies.”

I thought that she had left me
For the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say
“She left you with her love.”

I thought that I would miss her
And never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say
“She's with you every day.”
