Mrs. Nellie Lindsey Norman, 99 of Marion, N.C. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday August 24, 2013 at the Baptist Home in Asheville, N.C. Born in Rockingham, N.C. on March 28, 1914, she was the daughter of Charlie Lindsey, and Allie Mae Campbell Lindsey of Marion, N.C. She was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church of Marion, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel James Norman, and a Daughter Rachel Norman Hughes. She is survived by her three Grandchildren, Tammy Hughes Ellison of Asheville, N.C., Johnny and Joni Hughes of Marion, N.C., and Cindy Hughes of Charleston, S.C. Three Great Grandchildren, Whitney Hughes Wyatt and husband Bradley of Killen, Alabama, Casey Hughes of Marion, N.C. and Haley Ellison of Asheville, N.C.
The family will receive friends on Monday morning at 10:30, with church service following at 11:00 at Clinchfield Baptist Church in Marion, N.C. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park, with the Rev. Terry Roach officiating.

Tammy, Johnny and Cindy. So sorry about aunt Nell. She was truly an inspiration to us all. Stephanie, Teresa and I visited her a few years back and she told us stories about grandma and grandpa we had never heard before. Memories I will always cherish. The thing I loved most about Nell was her beautiful smile. She always greeted you with it. I see the same smile on all three of you! Great heritage!

Our sweet Aunt Nell has join her Family in heaven. We will miss her Dearly. But so Happy that she has gone to be with our Father in heaven. I love you all very much. And so did she. She was a wonderful grandmother, mother and Aunt to us all.

Johnny, Tammy & Cindy...I might have been her boss,but she was the teacher. If you talked to Nellie more than a minute, you new how much she loved you three. She made me feel like I was important. Nellie was very special to me. Now she's in Heaven smiling & talking about her grandkids...
