My dad worked with Mr. Saunders for many years at Lenoir Hickory Knitts. He called him "Zip" and they had many laughs. I remember Mrs. Saunders are a very grand lady and they cared for one another very much. My prayers and thoughts are with the family. You had a very special man in your lives.

Newland and his wife were such sweet people. He was such a joy to be around. I loved when we would have our dinners for the Saunders family and he and his wife would be there. He meant alot to me and he will be missed.
