Obituary

On Thursday, June 20, 2013, age 89, of Ross Twp., a native of McKeesport. Husband of the late Mary Lou (Perry) Herrington; devoted brother of Shirley Ripley and the late Robert Herrington; son of the late Newton and Loretta (Shaw) Herrington; also survived by six nieces. Friends received 2 until time of service at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the HEARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4047 Perrysville Avenue, Observatory Hill. Bucky was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in North Hills. He attended St. Vincent College and was a graduate of Duquesne University. He served honorably in the Air Force during World War II as a Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with w-4 Bronze Stars, the AIR Medal, w-2 OLC, and Good Conduct Medal. He retired from the United Insurance Company after 25 years. Bucky enjoyed bowling, dancing, trips to Vegas and was a member of the North Hills Silver Sneakers.
