COLUMBIA – A Mass of Christian Burial for Nicholas C. DeBenedetto, 92, will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 12 noon at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Dunbar Funeral Home Northeast Chapel.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late Antonio and Regina Di Apico DeBenedetto. He served his country in the United States Navy after which he was a pipe fitter for Carlson & Reed Construction Company in New York for many years from which he retired. He then worked for the City of Sunrise in Broward County, Florida as a carpenter. After his retirement from the city of Sunrise, he and his late wife, Ann Durso DeBendetto enjoyed taking many, many cruises from the port of Fort Lauderdale. He was a member of the parish of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church. Nicholas was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his daughter; Regina DeBenedetto of Canton, Ga; son, Robert (Linda) DeBenedetto of Columbia; grandchildren; Dawn (Stuart) Ginsberg of Canton, Ga, Mark (Stacey) Trombetta of Ocoee, Fla., Scott T. (Jessica) DeBendetto of Portland, Maine, Michelle (Joe) Moore of Portsmouth, Va., Andrew (Jessica) Aiton of Columbia, SC, Brandon (Shaun Frame) Aiton of Charleston, SC and great grandchildren; Marissa, Rosalee, Anthony, Salvatore, Gracie, Elijah, Coty, Layla and Cora.
