After a lengthy physical decline he was “promoted to GLORY: on June 28, 2014. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Crowder-Stefanchik of Clearwater, son George Wetzel, and son Nicholas, Jr. with wife Carolyn and three grandchildren: Melanie Rose, Nicholas III, and Max Stefanchik; and MaryAnn’s son S. Jim Teixeira with wife Angela and step grandchildren Ashley and Kaitlin Teixeira.

Also surviving are his loving sisters and many nieces and nephews who cherish fond memories of Uncle Nick, the smiling, happy person.

Nicholas was a long time resident of Manville, New Jersey and raised his children in Edison. In 1984 Nicholas chose to move to sunny Florida and lived his life enjoying the sun, music, and lifestyle. His spirit never wavered, and his spiritual roots ran deep and strong; raised as a Russian Orthodox, and was a member of St. Therese Byzantine Church in St. Petersburg. Limited mobility for the last seven years resulted in his home shrine being his alter with daily prayers and vespers. When able he enjoyed attending church with his wife MaryAnn.

Interment will be at Sylvan Abbey Cemetery Mausoleum at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 3 followed at 11:30 AM with a memorial service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1676 South Belcher Road, Clearwater, Florida. Nicholas loved flowers, especially carnations. His realistic side would ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the SunCoast Hospice Care ,Pinellas Park, Florida in recognition of their loving care and service.5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, thehospicefoundation.org
