Nina LaRue Ecker, nee Elliot, 103, born February 28, 1910 in Ridgeway, Missouri, died Monday, December 9, 2013 in Belleville, Illinois. Mrs. Ecker graduated from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri and taught elementary school in Pacific, Missouri. Mrs. Ecker was an active member of Pacific Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and directing music programs for children. She was a charter member of the Twentieth Century Study Club organized in 1937. Nina LaRue Ecker, nee Elliot, 103, born February 28, 1910 in Ridgeway, Missouri, died Monday, December 9, 2013 in Belleville, Illinois.

Mrs. Ecker graduated from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri and taught elementary school in Pacific, Missouri. Mrs. Ecker was an active member of Pacific Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school and directing music programs for children. She was a charter member of the Twentieth Century Study Club organized in 1937. The group supported the Pacific Library, Cancer Control Fund, Polio Fund, Red Cross Bloodmobile, and school band program. Mrs. Ecker was also active in Girl Scouts and appointed Girl Scout Chairman for the Twentieth Century Study Club in 1958. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution as well as 69-year member of P.E.O., chapter BU, serving all offices. The couple lived in Sun City Center, Florida following Dr. Ecker's retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married in 1939, Dr. D.B. Ecker, and her parents, William and Catherine, nee Wallace, Elliot.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Katherine Ann Kneedler and Dr. Charles Kneedler of O'Fallon, Illinois and Mary Alice Galloway and Keith Galloway of Fulton, Missouri, as well as four grandchildren: Christopher Kneedler of Pasadena, Texas, Lori Molitor of Verona, Wisconsin, Suzanne Sabo of Memphis, Tennessee, and Donald Galloway of St. Louis, Missouri and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services are private. Interment is in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Belleville, Illinois.
