Niobe Pakis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 2, 2015.

Niobe L. Pakis,92, of Hot Springs passed away April 1st, 2015. She was born July 24th, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Panagiotis and Olga Poutetsi Stephano.

Family came first in her life. Niobe was a dedicated and devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was a member of St. Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Hot Springs. When she was only twelve she had the privilege to dance for the King of Greece. She stayed very active throughout her life, and loved to cook. She often baked deserts for her friends and always had freshly baked bread at home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 6o years; sister, Vera; and infant daughter, Sara.

Cherishing her memory are her children, Stephen (Debbie), Christina (Clint), Michael, and Marina; sister, Rhea; and Grandchildren, Jack, Paul, Olympia, Nicholas, Marina Maxine, and Hali Rose.

The family would like to thank the residents and staff of West Shores Retirement Community for all of the love and care she received there.

Graveside services will be 4:00 Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at Hollywood Cemetery with Father Nicholas J. Verdaris officiating. A reception to celebrate her life will follow at the family home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Niobe’s name to the charity of your choice.

Xristos Anesti! Niobe was always so special to me. My parents Nick and Anna baptized Tina, so we always had a special family connection over the years. I have such fond memories of the Pakis parties on the lake when I was young. Niobe was always so gracious and kind to me and she always kept in touch. I loved her. May her memory be eternal. My sympathy to Steve, Tina, Michael and Marina.
