Noah "Sam" Coatney Obituary

Noah "Sam" Coatney, 68, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Willie Crosby will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Mr. Coatney, son of the late Noah and Margaret Lee Demark Coatney, was born in Blakely, GA. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. Mr. Coatney was a U.S.D.A. Inspector with the State of Florida retiring after twenty years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Disabled Veterans Association, the Paralyzed Veterans of America and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include those he loved most, his wife, Shirley C. Coatney of Lizella; his children, Joey Coatney, Jamie (Jasmine) Coatney, Tammy (Tim) Farrens, Sherry (Jeff) Lowenberg, Joe (Olette) Busbee, Jennifer (Tracy) Burkholder; eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
