Nolan Joseph Bergeron, 91, died Saturday, August 11, 2012, in a local care center.
He was a native of Port Neches, Texas and had been a longtime resident of Vinton. He played the fiddle and loved music. One of his hobbies was donating his love of music to different charitable benefits. Nolan loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Survivors include his son, Terry Bergeron and wife, Alice of Lake Charles; his brother, Melvin Bergeron and wife, Elaine of Buna, Texas; his grandchildren, Tammy, Tara, Brandy, Michelle, and Deuce; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Bergeron; his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Johnny McKee; and his sister, Helen Carroll.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Susil Fernando will officiate. Burial will be in Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation is from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
