Dear Jerry, Kerry, and Brian,
There are no words to express the depth of my sympathies for all you have gone through. I am incredibly sad to realize I will never see my uncle Norbert again...he was a VERY special man, and I held him and your family ,always very close to my heart. I know how sad you must be because, since losing my mom 15 months ago, I have been terribly lost, but I just got a tiny smile on my face picturing my mom & dad (happily together again), and Ron and Clarence, and Francis, and Grandma & Grandpa, all enjoying cocktails while playing Slot Machines in Heaven and playing a great Card Game together ( just like old times!)... We can find peace knowing these Eischeids are definetely all together again and are enjoying every minute together. I am sure my dad was there , with open arms, to welcome his brothers Home with him.. I love you all, and I truly loved my uncle Norbert. He will forever be in my heart....

Gerry, Kerry and Brian,
I want you to know my mum and I are thinking of you all during this difficult time. I used to have little "chats" with him at post office over the past few years. You could see some days he didn't feel as well as others, but would always say "I am doing well." I think men of that generation just never complained and kept on going. It was the way they were brought up. No Complaining.... Hard to accept when they are finally gone. Hold onto all the memories. It will get you through.... Robin & Nancy Cherry

Chief Eischeid was the absolute epitome of the caliber most Chiefs can only hope to aspire to. His demeanor and respect for "Everyone" made him an approachable, well respected and well admired Mentor.

His name and legacy are fondly remembered by all those he has touched with these fine humane qualities, and he will remain the subject of conversation here among us Civil Engineers whenever we reflect upon past and truly revered Enlisted Leaders. It is a sad day here at CE.
