Father Norbert De Amato, OFM of Cambridge and East Boston on July 29, 2017 at age 95. Born in Boston on January 3, 1922 with the birth name, Joseph De Amato. He is the son of the late John and Crescenza "Suffoletta" De Amato. Brother of John and Kathleen De Amato of Pelham, NH, and Frank and Joan De Amato of Punto Gorda, FL. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Father Norbert served as pastor at the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, East Boston and St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cambridge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-5pm and 6-8pm with a Vigil Service to be held at 7pm in Sacred Heart Church, 12 North Sq., Boston. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in Sacred Heart Church. Services will conclude with interment in St. Francis Cemetery, Andover. Donations in Father Norbert's memory may be made to: St. Leonard Renovation Fund, 320 Hanover St., Boston, MA 02113.
