Obituary

Norma Jeanne Wood passed away Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 at age 66. Both a Breast Cancer and a Head and Neck Cancer Survivor, She lost her three and a half year war with lung cancer. Norma was born January 1st, 1949 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Leo and Eva Jeanne (Cheek) Brix. She graduated from Tulsa's Will Rogers High School in 1967, and later attended Tulsa Junior College. After Moving to the Tahlequah area in 2008, Norma became involved in the United Methodist Women at First United Methodist Church in Tahlequah, the Cat Crew at the Cherokee County Humane Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Norma Jeanne Wood passed away Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 at age 66. Both a Breast Cancer and a Head and Neck Cancer Survivor, She lost her three and a half year war with lung cancer. Norma was born January 1st, 1949 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Leo and Eva Jeanne (Cheek) Brix. She graduated from Tulsa's Will Rogers High School in 1967, and later attended Tulsa Junior College.
After Moving to the Tahlequah area in 2008, Norma became involved in the United Methodist Women at First United Methodist Church in Tahlequah, the Cat Crew at the Cherokee County Humane Society, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Norma was preceded in death by both her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Gary wood; children: Sean Stines of Pennsylvania, Neil Stines and wife Joy of Woodall, Sarah Stines of New Mexico and stepsons, Christopher and Anthony Wood; two sisters and 14 grandchildren, as well as, a host of friends and loved ones.
Interment will be Monday, November 16, 2015 at Floral Haven Cemetery in in Tulsa at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Tahlequah, OK.
