Norman C. Davis, 85, of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was born on December 7, 1931 in Sallisaw, OK. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean conflict. He was an Electrical Estimator. He was an ordained Deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church and a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. He served for 12 years as secretary of Belle Point Masonic Lodge #20 F&AM where he was a Past Master. He belonged to Liberty Chapter #402 OES, was a Past Patron and served as secretary, he also served as Chaplain of Fidelity Chapter #86 OES. As a member of Amrita Grotto, he was a Past Monarch, had served as secretary, was in the motorcycle patrol, and in the clown unit making kids happy with his balloons.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with Military Honors.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Davis; daughter, Debera Thompson of Fort Smith, AR; son, Richard Davis and wife Dalia of Conway, AR; brothers, Hobart Paul Davis, Carl Davis and Gilbert Davis, all of Sallisaw, OK; three grandchildren, Codey Davis, Zechariah Thompson and Amie Thompson; and one great grandchild, Tripp Starr.

Pallbearers will be Codey Davis, Zechariah Thompson, David Edwards, David Arnold, Leo (Buddy) Cole, Jr. and Joe Hill.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

I grieve with you, Doris, (lost my husband June 11). My deepest condolences and prayers are with you and your family. We are never ready to lose them...but I know they are waiting in heaven for us. Norman and Doris were my parents best friends traveling in Eastern Star. They enjoyed their company so much. I always loved visiting with them. Norman was such a gentle soul. I appreciated all he did to help my Dad after my Mother passed away.
