Norman 'Pete' Rogers, a longtime Waco resident and businessman, passed away on April 14, 2013 in Ft Worth Texas.

Graveside services will be held 10am Saturday, April 20, at Waco Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Friday, April 19.

Born in Pottsboro Texas on March 24, 1926 to Silas Buel Rogers & Emma Christman Rogers, Pete was the second of five boys.

In 1980 Pete and wife Millicent bought the building at 3117 Bellmead Drive and ran the Pirates Cove Game Room and later the Piano Shop & Furniture Corner. Millicent preceded Pete in death in 1990. Prior to moving to Waco in 1970 Pete and Millicent were residents of Joplin Missouri.

Pete is survived by brothers Glenn Rogers of Ft Myers FL, Doyle Rogers of Waco and Willis Rogers of Winnsboro, one daughter Karen Marion of Castell TX, three step-children Bill Garrett of Coral Springs FL, Chris Garret of Corpus Christi, and Millicent Reiten of Ft Worth, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Assn, Susan G Komen Race for the Cure or charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated.

We had so much fun in the mornings having a contest about who made the best corn bread muffins, and Pete's won hands down. He always had a smile and a kind word for us. We loved to venture our way through his furniture store as he always had some kind of treasure. We will miss him.
