I was really sadden to hear of Tins's death. Remembering Tina's personality, strength and love of life, I know she fought a hard battle. I worked at the CDC until I moved in 1993 while Tina was the director. Tina loved her job. I remember the lauas that we had and how she would love to cook for them. She would try to teach us to hula. She once made a visit over to MacDill AFB in Tampa when I worked there. I could hear her laughing in the hallway! We had a nice short visit that day. I hope all of you, family and her many friends, can find peace, comfort and strength to get through this difficult time from the many memories that you have and other will share. I send my deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to all of you.

I was so saddened to hear of cousin Tina's passing just yesterday from my sister Andrea "Sweetie" Washington Ma'ae. There are so many Beautiful memories of her ever since I was a little girl and she and cousin Dougie used to come over to our (my parents Anderson/Ruby Washington's)home in Kaneohe, Hawaii, to visit and/or we would go over to their home on the military base for dinner's, etc. And I played with Kathy and Diego, then lil Dougie "Fella" was born. But all memories are so good. I pray the peace of God upon your family and comfort at this time. Cousin Tina was Beautiful inside and out. She will be greatly missed. But God has a Beautiful addition to His Heaven. Much Love and Aloha Always.....Pamela Washington Spells and Family

To Tina's Family:
I cannot think of words that will be of comfort to you during this time except, "Look to God for strength." Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Tina and I worked together and shared loads of laughter and frustration. I learned to truly appreciate wide varieties of colors as Tina loved vibrant colors. She knew just what colors blended well together. She was a wonderful friend, a great decorator, and a fantastic cook (but there was one dish she could not get me to try.) Family is so important, and all of you know how important Tina's family is to her. She is so very proud of all of you and will be watching over you until the end of time.
Mahala, my dear friend, until we meet again.

Mom, I never got that chance to say this before you went home to Jesus....

Mom I wish I could tie a yellow ribbon around your whole world, so that everywhere you turned you'd feel encircled by warm support, and everywhere you looked you'd see bright possibilities. You've had more than your share of gray days lately, and it seems so unfair. I wish I could blow those dark clouds away. What I can so is surround you with caring thoughts-a shiny yellow ribbon of caring thoughts, tied up on a huge hopeful bow. Maybe even for a moment, you'll feel wrapped in the sunshine you so deeply deserve.
We didn't get the chance to do some of the things that I had hoped we would when we moved to FL. You are an amazing woman and I thank you for the man you raised that is my husband. I know you are tired and worn down, you have fought hard. If I don't make it to say goodbye because you are ready and God wants you home, that is OK! Just know that I love you mom
-until we meet again
