Olivia Traywick Martin, aged 84, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 29, 2013  She was the daughter of Howard and Elisa Traywick of Georgia and Alabama. Olivia grew up in Atlanta and graduated from North Fulton High School. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri for two years and graduated from the University of Georgia. Later, she received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Atlanta University. Olivia found her "calling"  as an elementary school librarian at Clay School in Cobb County. She absolutely loved her job working with children, books and her fellow teachers. Olivia was a "doer" and a people person. Her interests included music, opera, square dancing, traveling, genealogy, giving tours of the Governor's Mansion, story telling and history. She never met a stranger and was true and loyal to all of her friends.  Most of all, Olivia cherished her family. Her ability to reach out to distant cousins and make them close was her greatest strength. She loved each and every one.

Olivia is predeceased by her husband of thirty-nine years, Roy Martin, her loving son, Richard Cheatham, and her step-daughter, Christine Martin. She is survived by her children, Livie and Brook Armsby of Atlanta and Liz and Chet Davidson of Chattanooga. Her grandchildren are Matthew, William and Elisa Armsby and Elisabeth and Ches Davidson.  A memorial service will be held this Friday, July 5th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744  Peachtree Road N.W., Atlanta, GA 30305. We will gather in the Gould Room at the Cathedral immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to the Shepherd Foundation, 2020 Peachtree Road N.W., Atlanta, Ga  30309.
