Opal Harner Buljat, 87 of Mather, went to be with her Lord and family on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Southwest Regional Medical Center Hospital, Waynesburg. She was born May 11, 1923 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Richard and Catherine Frum Harner. She spent her life devoted to her family. Mrs. Buljat was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mather Christian Church, Mather, the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center and the Red Hats Society. On December 3, 1955 she married Michael Buljat, who died September 12, 1984. Opal Harner Buljat, 87 of Mather, went to be with her Lord and family on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Southwest Regional Medical Center Hospital, Waynesburg.
She was born May 11, 1923 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Richard and Catherine Frum Harner. She spent her life devoted to her family.
Mrs. Buljat was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Mather Christian Church, Mather, the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center and the Red Hats Society.
On December 3, 1955 she married Michael Buljat, who died September 12, 1984.
Surviving are three sons, Edward McCormick and wife Karen of Brunswick, OH, Matt Buljat and his wife Cathy of Mather, Mark Buljat and his wife Sherry of Mather; four daughters, Lisa Ammons and her husband Gary of Morgantown, Michelle Conklin and her husband Gary of Prosperity, Cathy Jo Henderson and her husband David of Mather, and Kim Standiford and her husband Ken of Glen Easton, WV; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer McCormick of Morgantown, WV; she was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly; as well as her close friend, Joy Corbett.
Deceased are three sons, Bruce McCormick, George McCormick, and a son in infancy; a grandson, Aaron Standiford; four brothers, George Harner, Charles Harner, Warren Harner, and Joseph Harner; and three sisters, Lena Davenport, Virginia Whalen, and Ruth Stanton.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 6, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road. Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Mather Christian Church, Mather, with the Rev. Ken Jones and Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown, WV. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation in her honor to the Mather Christian Church, P.O. Box 37, Mather, PA 15346.
