Opal G. Rogers, 88, passed away on April 6, 2014 in Hixson.
She was born July 12, 1925 in Palmer, Tennessee, she was the daughter of late John & Martha Grimes Green.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Larry M. Rogers.
Opal is survived by her daughter, Teresa Jackie Hooks, Jane (Randy) Layne, grandchildren, Shawn & Kyle Layne, great grandchildren, Cody & Mattew Layne and many nieces and nephew
Graveside services for Opal will be held 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 9, at the Chattanooga National with Rev. Steve Highlander officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 2:00 pm and 4:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 8, at the North Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to your charity of your choice.

Jackie and Janie I will truly miss having Ms Opal coming in on Saturdays to have her hair done, I always looked forward to her coming in she was such a wonderful person, she was like family to me I will miss her very very much. I dearly loved her like she was my mom. I feel so blessed that god put her in my life. May god bless and help you both though this time.

Jack and Janie, I know how hard it is to lose your mother. Opal was a very special person and a great mom. She and my mother were such great buddies. She was so lovable, fun and young at heart, I loved seeing the pictures of her dressed up at Halloween. I know she loved you all very much. We will all miss her.

OPAL WAS SUCH A DELIGHT TO VISIT...ALWAYS SMILING, AND TELLING FUNNY STORIES! SHE WAS A DEAR FRIEND TO MY MOTHER, MARY INGRAM QUARLES. MOTHER AND I WOULD STOP IN TO SEE OPAL AND SHE WAS ALWAYS SO HOSPITABLE, INVITING US IN AND MAKING US FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. SHE LOVED HER GIRLS, JACKIE AND JANIE.
