Ora B. Thomas, 92, of Ripley, formerly of St. Albans, entered her Heavenly Home on May 11, 2017.
She was born March 14, 1925, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Abby and Clella Helms Buzzard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson B. Thomas, Sr.; brothers, Johnny, Jessie, Herbert, and Luther Buzzard; sisters, Barbara Shillings, Minnie Edwards, Zelphie Duncan, Reba Gillispie, and Lillie Edwards.
She was a homemaker and loved going to yard sales and flea markets. And being at Somewhere in time with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hunter and her husband Bob, of Ripley; son, Emerson "Shug" Thomas and fiancée, Linette Thaxton, of Elkview; sister, Gracie Branham (Whitey), of N.Y.; granddaughter, Ashli M. Gallagher (Sean), of Uniontown, Pa.; two great-grandsons, Sean T and Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Ora’s life will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 15, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Art Rose officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Gathering of family and friends will be Monday from noon until time of service.
