Oreita Oudella Charran passed away on March 14, 2012 at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City; FL.

Mrs. Charran was born May 16, 1934 in St. Michaels, Barbados to Beryl Rosalind Heallis and Clifford Adolphus Bannister.

She was educated at St. Michaels Girls School in St. Michaels, Barbados. She left Barbados in 1953 to study nursing at St. Albans City Hospital in St. Albans, England, where she became a registered nurse and met the love of her life. She was united in marriage to her soul mate, Linton Claude Charran on March 26, 1960, to whom she remained faithful for 52 years, and moved to the Bronx, NY in 1968. Mrs. Charran went into the nursing profession in the 1960's and was distinguished in her career. She would have tea with Queen Elizabeth II when she came to visit the hospital in St. Albans and was presented the opportunity to work in America and was employed at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital for 32 years until she retired in the year 2000 and moved to Deltona, FL. Out of 800 nurses, they wanted 4 and she was one of the 4 chosen. Mrs. Charran, always one to emphasize education, received her Master's in Public Administration from Long Island University. She was a true caregiver, giving love to friends and family, and known for her charity.

Mrs. Charran was a devoted mother to her children, Paul Linton Claude Charran and Neil Martin William Charran. She is preceded in death by her brother, Charles "Chrisee" Bannister and her aunt, Lottie Hewitt. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memory her daughter-in-law, Erin Charran; one grandchild, Persephone Charran; her sisters, Estrelia "Essie" Andrews, Vernice Gumbs and Marguerita Richardson, and her brother, Everton Bannister; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Although Mrs. Charran will be missed by all who loved her, she is now at peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The wake will be on Thursday, March 22nd with a viewing from 5 - 7 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home located at 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL 32763. The funeral will be on Friday, March 23rd starting at 4 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church located at 155 Clark Street, Enterprise, FL 32725.

Following the church service, we will proceed to Deltona Memorial Gardens for the entombment and then return to the church for a repast.
