Pasoua Lee was born on February 14, 1939 at Hai Tai Village in Houaphan Province, aos. She married Major Katoua Xiong in February 1957. They had four sons together. Due to the conflict in Laos in the 1960s, in 1968, they migrated to the Phuhet Village in Xaisoonboon District, Xiengkhouang Province. After the Communist Pathet Lao took over the country in 1975, they had to migrate again for the second time and this time to Thailand. Adter spending about a year in the refugee camp in Thailand, they decided to come to The United States of America. They arrived in Spokane, WA in 1979 and spent the next 30 years there. In 2007, she moved with one of her sons to Denver, CO and in 2015 she moved back to live with her youngest son in Marysville, WA. She passed away on August 2, 2017 in the comfort of her own bed at her son's house in Marysvill, WA.
