Obituary

Pamela L. Anastasio, 57, of South Beach, who is remembered as a loving aunt, died Thursday at home. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived there until 2008, when she moved to South Beach. She earned her bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, and received her master's degrees in special education and education administration from the College of Staten Island. Ms. Anastasio worked as an elementary special education teacher for New York schools for 25 years. She retired in 2007. She loved children, especially her nieces and nephews. She often enjoyed taking them to Breezy Point Beach for day trips during the summer months. ...
Pamela L. Anastasio, 57, of South Beach, who is remembered as a loving aunt, died Thursday at home.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived there until 2008, when she moved to South Beach.

She earned her bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, and received her master's degrees in special education and education administration from the College of Staten Island.

Ms. Anastasio worked as an elementary special education teacher for New York schools for 25 years. She retired in 2007.

She loved children, especially her nieces and nephews. She often enjoyed taking them to Breezy Point Beach for day trips during the summer months.

Along with spending time with her family, Ms. Anastasio enjoyed taking care of her dog, Ralphie.

Surviving are her brother, Neil Anastasio; her sister, Lucille D'Elia, and her longtime companion, John Troiano.

The funeral will be Monday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, with a mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, both West Brighton. Arrangements include cremation.

Arrangements under the direction of Harmon Funeral Home, Staten Island, NY.
