Pamela Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2012.

Pamela Cvetnick Miller was born on February 27, 1953 at Myers Clinic in Philippi, West Virginia to Maribelle Digman and T. Max Cvetnick. Pamela moved to Arlington, Va at age six and then later attended Wakefield High School. She attended Virginia Tech University and then returned to Arlington, Va to start her career in the sales industry as well as personal training. She was married to Ronald S. Miller in 1984, and together they birthed what Pamela considered her greatest success in life -- her three children Jared, Paige and Maren. Through the years of raising her children, she was very engaged in every aspect of their lives. From sporting events to volunteering at school activities, she was always there.

During the earlier years of her children's lives, Pamela was very involved in physical fitness, as she became a Certified Personal Trainer and aerobics instructor. One of her children's fondest memories of their mother is hearing her teach step aerobics from the studio in the basement of their home. Pamela also spent time playing slow-pitch softball for several years. She passed her athleticism and knowledge of physical fitness on to her children as all three were involved in many sports as they grew.

Perhaps Pamela's greatest joy was her involvement with her children's sporting events. She spent several years coaching her daughters' softball teams at McLean Little League and when she wasn't coaching she rarely missed a game, always there cheering for her child from the sidelines.

Her love and support for her children continued into their college and adult lives until she suddenly passed away on February 25, 2012 at the age of 58. She is survived by her three children Jared A. Miller (27), Paige C. Miller (25), and Maren A. Miller (22), father, T. Max Cventick, brother, Mark A. Cvetnick, friends, Ronald S. Miller and Verne Myren, and two cats, Daisy and Goldie.

Pamela's second greatest passion in life was her love for animals. She was always supportive of animal rights and never went a day without a pet in her life. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Animal Welfare League of Arlington 2650 South Arlington Mill Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22206.

Dear Jared, Paige, and Maren,
I just learned of your mom's passing when I saw the beautiful pictures of you all with her on facebook. I remember your lovely mom and her vibrant energy from Churchill. I'm so sorry for your loss and I know you'll continue to make her so proud. Thinking of you and sending you love.

My son Teddy just shared with me the news of Pam's passing. I am shocked and saddened to hear of this loess. Having lost both of my parents this past year I know what you are going through.

I just ran into Pam recently in the grocery store. Of course after talking about where the kids were now, Pam told me about her new career....watching children! She gave all the credit to Paige for coming up with the idea. She said that she was loving it and also loved being back in McLean. It doesn't seem fair that she is gone.

I will always remember how kind and thoughtful Pam was to my family. She would volunteer to watch my children at a softball game if one of the girls had committed to sitting for me and then unexpectedly have to pitch a game. She always made it work out for everyone and I was forever thankful for it!

Paige and Maren, please feel free to stop by anytime to talk. I am so sorry for this tremendous loss.

To Jared, Paige, Maren, Mark and TMAX, and all of those who loved Pam. The service yesterday afternoon was truly one that honored Pam for who she was. I always thought our friendship, strengthened at Virginia Tech, would once again be strong. It will never be, but I am humbled by the love her family demonstrated yesterday. Bless you all.
Love,
Becky

Pam had such a kind heart and gentle spirit. Seeing me after close to 40 years she exclaimed "you look the same, I would have known you anywhere". Oh yes very kind (she may have forgotten her glasses)! I have loved reading about all the lives she impacted as a Mom, friend & coach. I will always think of her smile, laughter, and ability to overcome hardship the best way she could. Kindred spirits always Pam. See you on the other side, Love, Cheryl Smith Jakubowski

Thanks for hosting me all those times over at Thrasher, cooking me dinner and driving me to baseball even when I was acting psycho. You were a fine Mother who raised three wonderful children, and who created a warm, family environment just across the field for me when things got tense at my house. Show 'em how to work it in heaven Ms. Miller. R.I.P.

Pam's personality was bright, kind, and attractive. Her love for animals and sports still lives on through her three beautiful children today. I will never forget the wonderful memories I had with her in her home....Everything from forcing her to watch our dance routines to her laughing at me running through the screen door on my way to the trampoline.

The world has lost a wonderful and loving woman. I knew Pam as a terrific mother and first met her on the sidelines of our sons' soccer games. She was always friendly and warm to my son Scott as he and Jared grew into fine men.

I also knew Pam as an animal activist who often volunteered at national conferences and with local efforts. We shared our deep love and concern for animals and I know how much that passion meant to her.

We will all miss her and my thoughts are especially focused on Jared, Maren, and Paige, as well as Daisy and Goldie.
