Pasquale "Pat" Alexandria, 97, beloved husband of the late Albina (Mangone), of New Britain, passed away on November 30, 2013, at Amberwoods of Farmington with family by his side. He was born on July 9, 1916 in Syracuse, NY to the late Philip and Rita (Recutti). Pat was a talented carpenter, member of the Local 24 union before his retirement in 1980. He was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the US Army receiving a Purple Heart. He was a lifelong resident of New Britain. Pat was a devoted father who cherished time spent with his family. He was a light hearted man, with a gentle loving nature and he had a great sense of humor. He...
Pasquale "Pat" Alexandria, 97, beloved husband of the late Albina (Mangone), of New Britain, passed away on November 30, 2013, at Amberwoods of Farmington with family by his side. He was born on July 9, 1916 in Syracuse, NY to the late Philip and Rita (Recutti). Pat was a talented carpenter, member of the Local 24 union before his retirement in 1980. He was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the US Army receiving a Purple Heart. He was a lifelong resident of New Britain. Pat was a devoted father who cherished time spent with his family. He was a light hearted man, with a gentle loving nature and he had a great sense of humor. He will be most remembered for the dedication and pride he took in his carpentry work and his many construction projects. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Pat is survived by his daughter Rita Alexandria and her husband Larry Heidel of Rocky Hill, his sister Norma Stagnitta of Syracuse, NY; his sister in-law, Lena Alexander and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and a special dog Bella. He was predeceased by his son, Philip; his sisters, Mary, Margaret, Felicia, Connie and Elizabeth and his brothers Benny and Philip.
Pat's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Amberwoods of Farmington for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, at St. Maurice Church, 100 Wightman Rd., New Britain. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
