Patricia "Pat" (Price) Bowdish, of North Fort Myers, passed away Saturday August 5th, 2017 at the age of 85.
She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Bowdish, to whom she was married for nearly 55 years.
Born on July 14, 1932, Pat grew up in Union NJ. After graduating from Union High School, she attended stenography school.
Pat's early career included working for several Newark, NJ companies; Prudential Insurance Company, Dunn & Bradstreet, and the General Adjustment Bureau, and the FBI, where she worked for 8½ years.
One of her most memorable work experiences while at the FBI was meeting Attorney General Robert Kennedy during an office visit.
After a brief time living in Colonia, NJ, Pat and Ken moved to South Plainfield, NJ, where they lived for 30 years.
Pat continued to work at several companies which included; Rothberg Insurance, Knickerbocker Toy Company, Parker Interior Plantscapes, H. Douglas Stein Esquire, and G & W Laboratories.
She and Ken retired to North Fort Myers in 1999 and moved to their home in Sabal Springs.
Pat has always been a very giving person and has served in several volunteer roles. At the age of 16, she volunteered at an orphanage. She was very active in her community, having held leadership roles in the PTA, both the Boy & Girl Scouts, and as Pre-School Program Chairperson. Her activities at Sabal Springs included serving as Chairperson of the Helping Hands Committee, as President of the Arts & Crafts Committee and the Chairperson of numerous other events including dances, trash and treasure, and yearly food drives.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor and love of life. She enjoyed playing mahjong, bridge, exercising and even a little golf. Her greatest pleasure and joy came from time spent with friends and family.
In addition to Ken, she is survived by her daughter, Karen Bowdish Sokol of Branchburg, NJ (Steve), her son Ken Bowdish of Pawtucket, RI (Olga), and 5 grandchildren: Alex (23), Briana (19), William (18), Kevin (16), and Emily (13). Pats cheerful disposition and wry wit will be remembered above all. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. We are glad to have known her. We miss you already and send our condolences to the family.

Pat was the smiling face, the comedian that always made everyone laugh, the volunteer for the needs not only of our community, Sabal Springs, as head of our Helping Hands outreach, but was exuberant in her desire to see that the Harry Chapin Food Drive continued to exceed al previous years in the amount of food collected and/or financial donations and she accomplished this annually. We love you and will miss you and know you are our angel in Heaven, Pat, keeping everyone in stitches with your humor and leading them in prayers to watch over all over us. God bless you and your family.

You will surely be missed. You always had a funny joke for our arts & crafts luncheons, you are the queen of laughter, you made every one smile. Your friends at the Elks will also miss you. Dick & Joyce Wood.

Heaven has just received another beautiful angel. She was the most beautiful, kind and loving person I have ever met. She will truly be missed by all of the people who knew her, not only in Sabal Springs, but everywhere by people who also knew her.
