Obituary

Patricia Claire Cronin Malloy passed peacefully on September 25, 2017. She was born on September 4, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Thomas Cronin and Nora McGrath Cronin. Patricia received her RN from Georgetown University in 1949. She was married to Justin W. Malloy on October 8, 1949, in Washington, DC. In addition to caring for her family of eight children, Patricia volunteered with the American Red Cross and chaired the Helping Hands group at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, which provided funeral luncheons for parish families; and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Patricia Claire Cronin Malloy passed peacefully on September 25, 2017. She was born on September 4, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Thomas Cronin and Nora McGrath Cronin.


Patricia received her RN from Georgetown University in 1949. She was married to Justin W. Malloy on October 8, 1949, in Washington, DC. In addition to caring for her family of eight children, Patricia volunteered with the American Red Cross and chaired the Helping Hands group at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, which provided funeral luncheons for parish families; and served as a Eucharistic Minister. With her husband, she was a member of the Hansborough neighborhood watch for over 30 years. She also did fundraising for the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.


Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Justin W. Malloy; and her son, John J. Malloy. She is survived by her children: Eileen Malloy, Thomas Malloy, Kevin Malloy, Ann Noonan, Margaret Malloy-Baker, Mary Ritts, and Kathryn Shafter. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.


Funeral to be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, VA on September 30th, 2017, at 11 am. Visitation is at 10 am at the church.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the .
