On December 20, the heavens became a little brighter and the earth much darker when Lynn passed away. The long-time art teacher and painter inspired through her passion for life, love of God and family, and warm embrace of all she met. Born on Staten Island, New York, in 1941 she moved to California with her mother at age 10. She attended Cal State University Long Beach, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts and later earned a Masters. She taught art at Costa Mesa and Santa Ana high schools for 30 years and also taught classes at Orange Coast, Golden West, and Santa Ana community colleges. Her work there left a legacy: Many of her students won awards or scholarships and continued in the field of art, and she launched numerous public arts programs that are still practiced today, including Arts on the Lawn at Santa Ana High. She was awarded Disney's "Creativity Challenge" trophy in 2000 and recognized with Golden West College's "Pillar of Achievement" award. She was elected Teacher of the Year. Lynn was an accomplished painter whose work has been exhibited in the U.S. and internationally, where it frequently won awards. She is survived by her husband Martin Krenzke, daughters Jennifer Bowhay and Joni Casimiro, son Brian Krenzke, their spouses, and six grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on January 9 at 3:30 p.m. at Crossline Church's chapel located at 23331 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Lynn's name to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is suggested; donations can be made at mdanderson.org. Arrangements under the direction of Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary FD1176, Corona Del Mar, CA.
