Patricia Ottman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 11, 2013.

Patricia Jo Starkey Ottman, daughter of Joseph Napoleon Starkey, Sr. and Doris May Garrison was born on March 16, 1937 in Washington, DC and left this world surrounded by her children and grandchildren on June 10, 2013 in Marshfield, WI to sit at the feet of God. She loved and married Cletus Albert Ottman of Antigo, WI on June 11, 1955 and lived and raised their eight children in Rockford, IL, Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Rhinelander, WI.
Pat was a devoted Wife, Mom, Nana, Aunt, Sister and friend who always had a warm, loving hug for anyone, even a stranger. It was her small gesture of caring and love to the world and to each individual that she hoped they would pass along to people they met. She was a kind loving person that would help anyone.
Patricia loved gardening, and sewing, she was a member of the church choir and president of Christian Mothers at Holy Apostles Church in New Berlin, a member of St. Joe's choir and the Crescent Smokie Bears. She had a green thumb and could revive almost any plant that was in need of care. She was a hands-on grandmother and her grandchildren meant the world to her. She was a major part of many of their lives.
Pat is survived by seven of her children; Raymond Joseph (Daniel Baseman), Minneapolis, MN; Kathryn Jo of Laurel, MD; Daniel Craig (Rose) of Rhinelander, WI; Cynthia Ann (Roy) Kelling of Rhinelander, WI; Richard Albert of Rhinelander, WI; Stephan Andrew (Shelley) of Wausau, WI; and Jennifer Elizabeth(Casey) Sackett Rhinelander, WI. and two son in laws, Don Durre of Nappanee, NE and Jeff Bargmann of Omaha, NE. She has 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, and Maryland. Brothers, Grant Starkey, Greencastle, PA, Wayne Starkey, Walkersville, MD, and a sister, Mary Beth Schmidt, Hollywood, MD, and many other family and friends and friends yet to be made.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus and her daughter, Diana Marie.
A funeral service will be Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Noon at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff O'Malley officiating. Burial will follow at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2013 at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and again Saturday morning start at 11:00am until the time of service. I'm so very sorry for your great loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Even though your sweet mother is gone from your sight she has made that wonderful trip described in Psalm 139 ~

If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in a land beyond the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
Psalm 139:9
I pray the God of all comfort will keep you and bless you in your time of sorrow.

From all the Fredricks family to all the Ottman Family, we were all sorry to hear about your Mom. We are sending out our thoughts and prayers. My memories of our families growing up go back about 45 yrs. We were so full of life back then and there were no thoughts of us growing old and yet here we are. Our mom (33 yrs ago) and our dad (8 yrs ago) are gone but all us kids will go on to conquer the world to make our parents proud of us. We must stay strong for all of our kids! Take Care. The Fredricks Family.

To my cousins, I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. Your mom was a very special woman. She had a way of making me, and I believe, anyone she met, feel special, valuable, loved. She always had a smile and hug handy. To me, God's love and presence shone through her in an incredible way. I am so glad I got to see her again recently, even though it was because of another loss. I will not be able to be present with you this weekend, but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. With love, Tina Ottman-Boykin and family
