Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Patrick Louis Fleser, went to his heavenly home August 19, 2014, at age 81. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ellen (Lynch) Fleser, and sister, Joyce Farhat. Patrick dedicated 30 years of service to MSU, and was a passionate fan. He also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, going to the casinos and horse races. Patrick and Julia loved spending time together traveling the United States in their 5th wheel RV. He was always 'wheelin and dealin' on used cars and trucks, and had a soft spot for all animals. Patrick was the Past President and Chief Union Steward of Michigan State University local 1585, and he loved spending time with his family up north on Lake Michigan fishing for salmon on the "Grumpy Old Man Boat." Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Julia (Everett) Fleser; sons, Dan (Jane) Fleser, Mike (Brenda) Fleser, Mark (Shannon) Fleser; daughter, Lorie (Mike) Barnes; brother, James (Diane) Fleser; sister, Nancy (Joseph) Ording; grandsons, Josh Barnes, Kyle (Andrea) Barnes, Craig Fleser; granddaughters, Alyssa Fleser, Jessica Fleser, Meghan Fleser, Keileigh Fleser; and great-grandson, Taylor Fleser. A funeral mass will be held Friday August 22, 2014 at 11AM at St. Mary Catholic Church; 157 High St., Williamston. The family will receive friends Thursday August 21st from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, and one hour prior to the service at the Church. The Rosary will be prayed during Thursday's visitation at 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ingham County Animal Shelter, 600 Curtis Rd., Mason, MI 48854 in memory of Patrick.
