Uncle Pat generated my interest in genealogy many years ago when he asked me to transcribe a taped interview he had with a lady named Josephine Murphy. That was my introduction to the Murphy-Kennedy family connection in Missouri. He encouraged me to attend a family reunion in Chillicothe where I met many new [to me] relatives (even some who were living in Portland, Oregon!), and I learned new information about my Kennedy ancestors from cousins I didn't even know I had. Thanks, Uncle Pat, for introducing me to such an interesting hobby and to so many nice people. I think of you whenever I am researching Kennedy ancestors. I hope you have found peace.

I will greatly miss visiting Granddad at his caretaker Mimi's home during my visits to Portland. His kind and humble smile always made me feel at peace.

I, too, remember Uncle Pat with his camera in tow at the Kennedy family functions. One particular photo has stuck with me - the entire clan in our front yard in Milwaukie - everyone very young. Nice to be able to look back at his old photos and dust off the memories.
I also remember his interest in his Irish ancestry. A Irish toast to you Uncle Pat:
"As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, as we remember them."

I remember Uncle Pat being the official
photographer of all the events with his siblings and we, the cousins. I would not have those memories of the events without his photos.

He had that great Kennedy smile, twinkly blue eyes and a crooked smile
