Obituary

On Friday, July 25, 2014, Patrick Lynn Maples went to be with his Lord. He was born January 16, 1944, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was an avid bow hunter, knife maker, carpenter, whittler, craftsman, and full of joy. Pat was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity at OU, served in the U.S. Army during 1966-67 and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He retired as a 25 year employee of Parkland Hospital and was an ex-Braniff employee; he was a longtime breeder and member of the Appaloosa Horse Club. Survivors include his loving wife Linda of the home; brother, Mike and sister-in-law, Carolyn, of Austin; and nephews, Michael Maples of Atherton, CA and Brenton Maples of Austin. A celebration of this joyfully magnetic man will be at a later time.
