Patrick J. McGuire, 76, was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Elizabeth, N.J. He passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. Pat was an Eagle Scout at 17 a junior leader at Troop #39. He graduated from Linden High School in 1954, Linden, N.J. Pat served in the U.S. Army 101st Air born. He came to Las Vegas in 1958 was an apprentice in the sheet metal trade. He retired in 1994 after 36 years in sheet metal local #88. He was an assistant scout master and then became head scout master of troop #133 at St. Francis De Sales Parish. Pat was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anna and Patrick O'Loughlin; his parents, Mary and Joseph McGuire; and his son, Michael. He is survived by his loving wife, Ines; children, Patrick Jr., Brian, Theodore and Colleen Saffier; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. If ever a man loved to tell stories and hear jokes it was Pat. He lived by the scout law and loved people. "On my honor I will do my best." He once said that he liked everyone he met and forgave those that didn't like him. The wife, the family and life he dreamed of as a youth came to pass. Pat will be missed greatly. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow at Palm Memorial Park - Downtown.
