Paul Thibodeau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 5, 2017.

Paul Thibodeau, 70 of Nashua, N.H. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on June 3, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 18,1947, son of the late George Thibodeau and the late Theresa Thibodeau. Paul was the husband of the late Merita Thibodeau, whom he met in junior high school and fell in love at the age of 14. After dating for 10 years, they tied the knot and shared 45 wonderful years of marriage together.

A lifelong resident of Nashua, he attended local schools and graduated from Nashua High School class of 1965. Paul received a Bachelors degree in Business from New Hampshire College. He was proud to serve his country as an Army medic stationed in Korea. After serving his country, he worked at Nashua Corporation for 33 years where he held the title of Vice President of International Sales. After leaving Nashua Corporation, he held the same title at Terramedia Corporation for several years. He finished his career at The Millyard Technology Park where he assumed the role of General Manager until his retirement in 2015.

Paul's life revolved around his family especially his wife Merita and his son Aaron. He doted over his granddaughter Finlan and loved watching her play softball and putting together treasure hunts for her. Family was always his main priority. Paul loved coaching his son in baseball and basketball. Years later he and Aaron enjoyed many seasons of coaching basketball together as father and son. He was known by his family and friends for his generosity and his quick wit. His home was always open to friends and family alike and was known for throwing pool parties and gatherings which were long remembered. He traveled the world around and made lifelong friends overseas. He loved spending summer weekends at Lake Winnisquam with friends and family. Paul loved visiting the beaches and spent many a summer day with those he loved by the ocean. Paul was a lifelong Patriots fan and enjoyed watching the games with those he loved especially his son.

Paul was predeceased by his parents George and Theresa Thibodeau, wife Merita, brothers Louis Thibodeau, George Thibodeau, Brian Thibodeau, and twin granddaughters, Briar and Kinlee Thibodeau.

Paul is survived by his adoring son Aaron and his wife Tiffinie and Granddaughter Finlan. Sisters Carita Harr and her husband Lee, Pamela Riendeau and her husband Denis, Brother in law Mark St. Onge and his wife Debbie, Sister in law, Nancy Thibodeau, Nieces, Meghan Hoose and her husband Ryan, Courtney Guerette and her husband Chris, Kendra Belanger and her husband Scott, Taylor Riendeau and Laura Thibodeau. Nephews Chris Riendeau and his wife Jeanette, Todd Riendeau and his wife Jill, Nick Riendeau and his wife Rachel. Numerous great nieces and nephews and many dear and lifelong friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday June 13th at 11am at Immaculate Conception church in Nashua.

Aaron and family, I'm so sad to hear of Paul's passing. We knew each other for about 63 years. We were class mates at Temple St. School. Paul was very popular there and known as the best dresser. We played baseball at the parks and were teammates on the Pistons Biddy Basketball team. We were graduates of NHS class of 1965. Later on in life, we would coach Biddy Basketball against each other. He was truly a great coach. Betty and I would often meet up with Paul and Merita and Bubba and Kathy at the Modern Restaurant. Paul would always come over and ask us to join them. More recently, Donna and I met up with Paul and Merita at the Temple St Diner. We had some laughs and a few hugs which I will always treasure. Paul and I had a lot of the same memories. I will miss Paul, Merita, Louie and George.

I was so saddened by the news of Pauls passing,my deepest sympathy to Arrron and his family. I have been fortunate to have reconnected with Paul and have been a regular with our breakfast group which will never be quite the same.Paul as we all knew was having all kinds of issues these last few years and to talk with him he never once complained and he talked like going for his treatments was like some of us would describe as going to the mall or grocery store,he was always up beat and always had a story and a positive outlook. I have only been with the breakfast crew for about a year or so but am so glad to have had the chance to reconnect with Paul,we recently broadened our horizons where we deceided to go out for dinner and it was a night which I am sure no one will forget and trust me the next time we go we will celebrate Pauls life and he will not be forgotten by any of us,RIP BROTHER.

I was so saddened to hear of Pauls passing but realize now he is at peace with no more suffering.I have been lucky in reconnecting with Paul in the last year or so and have been going out to breakfast with our special group every couple of weeks where we talk about everything and I mean everything and what I'll remember most is about Pauls great attitude about life and how he never complained about anything.Several months ago our breakfast group went out to dinner and this is a night Iam sure none of us will never forget,we were all looking forward to doing this again but it will never be the same without Paul. RIP Paul and you will live on in our memories.

I will always remember Coach Paul for his dedication, passion and commitment to my sons' teams. I will never forget the picture of the Sonics coaches (Aaron, Paul, Chris and Rosie) with arms around each other's shoulders and the finals boy's biddy scoreboard in the background. Family and dedication were the life lessons Paul provided the entire team. RIP I hope there is Biddy Basketball in heaven! Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing him in our lives.

I knew Paul from our years together at NHS. I attended school with him for a short time at New Hampshire College, just before I joined the U.S. Navy in 1966.
He was always a great Guy, with a contagious smile and a good joke for everyone. Both he and Merita were always there together, and everyone knew that from early on that they were meant to be together for life.

I only knew Paul because we worked in the same building, the Millyard, but always enjoyed my conversations with him. He was a true gentleman that always had a smile on his face and a good word to say, that is not easy to find nowadays. My deepest sympathy to his family.
