Paul Allen Duerr of Terrell, passed away June 14, 2014. Paul was born Sept. 29, 1989 in Dallas, TX to James and Susan (Millender) Duerr. He was a 2008 graduate of Greenville Christian Academy and was currently attending TVCC, working towards a Degree in Pharmacology or Nursing. Paul had a work ethic that was exceeded only by his service to others. He was currently employed as a night supervisor at Brookshires in Forney and also as inventory control assistant with Acosta. Paul had a selfless heart for others and he helped with Special Olympics of Texas as well as Toys for Tots and was a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He had a will to succeed and he was always pushing himself to do better-traits that were evident when he received the Boy Scouts top honor of Eagle Scout and 3rd degree in the Knights of Columbus. When he wasn’t working or giving time to help others, his greatest passion and pastime was basketball. Paul also enjoyed playing golf and spending as much time with family and friends as he could. Paul’s generosity was such a prevalent force in his life that he made his wishes known to his family that he wanted to be an organ donor. His gift of life gave eight other people a chance that may never have been able to happen and, true to his personality in life, Paul will be met in Heaven with his Saviour saying “Well done, my good and faithful servant” as he is welcomed home.

Paul was preceded in death by grandfathers, Thomas Grady Millender,Jr. and Edward James Duerr.

He is survived by his parents, James and Susan Duerr, of Terrell; brother, Matthew Duerr of Terrell; grandmothers: Emily Pauline Millender of Dallas and Mary Ann Duerr of Duncanville, aunts and uncles: Marylin Valenta of Dallas, Becky Daffron of Greenville, Patricia Wilson of Long Beach, CA, Irene Carey of Duncanville, Anita DeBarros of Long Beach, CA, Thomas Grady Millender, III of Dallas, Paul Millender of Ft. Worth, Michael Duerr of Long Beach, CA, Bob Duerr of Ripon, CA and Tim Duerr of Murrietta, CA as well as numerous cousins, extended family members and a host of friends. Paul was an all-around great kid (in the words of his parents) and he will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Friday, June 20, 2014 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kaufman with interment to follow at Kaufman Cemetery. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00pm, Thursday, June 19, at St. Ann’s. In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family requests that donations be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 806 N. Washington, Kaufman, TX, 75142.
