Paul attended high school in Covington, GA. He married his first wife, Dorothy Donaldson, in Cheyenne, WY until her death of cancer 24 years later. He joined the Air Force in 1940, and had a total service of almost 23 years. He served in WWII and the Viet Nam wars. He received the Bronze Star and several other medals.

He and his wife, Billie Mobley, were married in 1982 until his death. They were members of St. John's United Methodist Church for many years and both sang in the choir. He was always dapper with his collection of hats and ties. They were together for 31 years. Paul was quiet by nature until a good song came on the radio. Paul and Billie could be found at Don's Depot or other gatherings dancing the night away with their other dance friends. As Paul was a dance instructor in his past, he was very popular and had one particularly fancy step called the Sugarfoot. He had not been able to dance as much due to poor health.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Mary Mobley, a sister and brother.

Paul really enjoyed marrying into a ready-made family. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Billie Mobley and her son's families, Doug and Susan Simmer and their daughter, Lindsey, as well as Russ and Kay Simmer and their 4 children, Valerie, Melanie, Russell and Nick, along with 5 great grandchildren.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 6th of February 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
A private graveside service will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 7th of February 2013, at Austin Memorial Park under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 16th of February, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2140 Allandale, Austin, Texas.

Condolences may be sent to www.cookwaldenfuneralhome.com.
