Paul A. St. Jean 96, a longtime resident of Keene, NH, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home in Keene. He was born in Lebanon, NH, June 13, 1916, the son of John and Josephine (Castilina) St. Jean. He grew up in Lebanon attending local schools. He was a World War II Army Staff Sergeant serving in Company "F" of the 47th Infantry. Mr. St. Jean worked for 24 years with the New England Telephone Company in Keene. He also enjoyed 30 years on the Gopher Ski Patrol at the Round Top Mountain, Stratton Mountain and Timber Ridge ski areas. Paul A. St. Jean 96, a longtime resident of Keene, NH, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home in Keene.

He was born in Lebanon, NH, June 13, 1916, the son of John and Josephine (Castilina) St. Jean. He grew up in Lebanon attending local schools.

He was a World War II Army Staff Sergeant serving in Company "F" of the 47th Infantry.

Mr. St. Jean worked for 24 years with the New England Telephone Company in Keene. He also enjoyed 30 years on the Gopher Ski Patrol at the Round Top Mountain, Stratton Mountain and Timber Ridge ski areas. He was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church and St. Bernard Church, both of Keene. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council and the VFW Post 799 in Keene.

A resident of Keene for many years, Mr. St. Jean began spending his summers on Silver Lake in Harrisville, NH in 1953, where he enjoyed sharing his love for water skiing by teaching anyone who wanting to learn. He was a mentor to all of the importance of family and love for one another.

Following his retirement in 1978, Mr. St. Jean spent his summers on Silver Lake and his winters in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

He is survived by his two daughters who cared for him in his last years, Paula Trombley and her husband, Robert, of Keene, Lou Anne Reagle and her husband, William Mohrbutter, of Hiawassee, GA and Jensen Beach, FL; his beloved grandchildren, Amanda Trombley and her partner, Robert Nebus of Cambridge, MA, Christopher Reagle of Jensen Beach, Nicole Trombley and her partner, Dr. Clarissa Clo of San Diego, CA, Dustin Reagle and his wife, Kristen of Jensen Beach, Michelle Trombley of New York City, NY; and three great-grandchildren, Alexandra Trombley-Nebus of Cambridge, Destiny Clo-Trombley of San Diego, and Layla Reagle of Jensen Beach; and a sister, Mary Dauphinais of Lebanon, NH. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Hazel (Goland) St. Jean who died April 11, 2008; a brother, Raymond St. Jean; and four sisters, Helen Crandall, Lillian White, Rose Monroe and Rita Monroe.

Funeral services and burial in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Keene, will be private. A celebration of his life will be held in August at a date and time to be announced.
