Paul was born June 5, 1958 to Philip and Pauline (Leoni) Taormina in Newport Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt Dolores Lane who was like a mother to him, sister Phyllis Taormina and his father in law Edward H. Cody. After graduating from high school, Paul entered the United States Marine Corps in 1977. He earned the rank of Sergeant E-5 in the Military Police Corps. Upon leaving the Corps in 1985, he joined the Bexar County Sheriff's Office Jail Division. He was commissioned as a Peace Officer in January 1986. In August 1990, he joined the San Antonio Independent School District Police Department. He served in various units and positions to include the Gang Intervention Unit, Community Intervention Officer, Patrol and Campus Division, and now disbanded Motorcycle Unit to name a few. Paul loved coordinating the USMC Birthday event every year. He was a Certified Master Gardener and loved working in the garden and landscaping. He took great joy in helping others and was very involved in the community. He was a great mentor and served as a father figure to many youth. He was loved and admired by all who knew him. Because of his strong Christian faith, Paul impacted a great many lives. The family wishes to thank the SAISD Police Honor Guard and fellow officers and friends for their loving support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Toys for Tots, Blue Santa, Boysville or your favorite Charity. Semper Fi!
