Pauline Ioma Box Stroope, resident of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017, at the age of 87, at her home in River Plantation. She left this life as she lived it, surrounded by her loving family. Pauline battled a rare genetic blood disorder for the past 30 years. In light of this, she and her family would like to thank all the generous blood donors for giving the gift of life. Pauline was born on January 3, 1930 in Maypearl, TX. She was the second daughter to Mary Lou Caskey Box and Morgan Gibson Box of Waxahachie, TX. After graduation from Maypearl High School at the age of 16, she lived and worked in the Ellis County area. At the age of 21, while working evenings at the local movie theater, she met and married the love of her life, James Franklin Stroope. They were endlessly devoted to each other for 65 year. While being transferred with her husband's company from West Texas to Connecticut, she and her husband made many lifelong friends. In 1971, they built their home in River Plantation and became members of First Baptist Church, Conroe. She cherished her church family and often shared that there were no finer ladies than those in her Sunday school class. Education was valued highly. During her moves and rearing of a young family, she always found time to study undergraduate courses at nearby universities. She loved studying classical literature. When her children were older, she obtained her Real Estate and Broker's license and practiced in the surrounding Conroe area. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper. Pauline enjoyed many things in her life. She was very active in her communities. She kept involved in church activities, literary groups, and served as President of civic & community organizations. She loved: music, from the big band crooners to the Bee Gees; a good book; traveling; old movies, from Westerns to the Classics; eating lobster and fresh grown vegetables; playing a challenging game of Bridge; and drinking a piping HOT cup of coffee. Above all things, what she enjoyed and loved the most was maintaining a nurturing, Christian home where her family and friends would gather often. She shared a wonderful, unconditional love with them and set a splendid example. Even with failing health for many years, she always tried to spend her energy on church and family. Her children say what they will miss the most is, "Mom's spin on things and her guidance. She always had a knack for focusing on the forest instead of the trees." Pauline Ioma Box Stroope was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mary Lou and Morgan Box, and only sibling, Nola Box Brewer, all of Waxahachie, Texas and recently, just seven weeks ago, her devoted husband, James. She is survived by their three loving daughters and their families: oldest daughter, Mary Jami, and her husband, Bruce Meyers, of Fort Worth, TX, and grandsons, James Robert Judy and Matthew Judy Jr.; middle daughter, Jackie Lynn, and husband, James McKey, and grandson, Clay McKey, of Conroe, TX; and youngest daughter, Susan Kimberly, and husband, Art Cox Jr., and granddaughter, Madison Cox, of Klein, TX. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews and countless other family members, church family, neighbors, and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, from 6 to 8 o'clock at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 10 o'clock at Cashner Funeral Home with graveside service immediately following at Garden Park Cemetery, Conroe, Texas. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family asks for blood donations to Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, 2125 N. Loop 336 W, Conroe, TX or to the First Baptist Church Conroe, 600 N. Main, Conroe, TX 77301 where she was a member most of her life.

Rest in the peaceful slumber that you so dearly deserve Mrs. Stroope. The final chapter in your long love story with your dear James has, at long last, been written.
Dear daughters and families, we are sorry for the pain that you endure with the loss of not only your dear Mother, but also recently, your Father. May it comfort you to know that they are together again in the comfort of our dear Lord's everlasting embrace. No more health issues, no more doctor's appointments for them, they have far better things to do now.
With our love, thoughts and prayers,
Shawn & Sharon Moshiri
