Pauline R. (Lankton) Shoemaker

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died November 27, 2010, at the age of 91. Pauline Lankton was born in Lansing, Michigan, April 15, 1919, to Charles and Rosa (Vickery) Lankton. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence K. Shoemaker in 1986; three sisters, two brothers, five brothers-in-law, and six sisters-in-law. Surviving are her daughter Karen (Les) Hewitt of Sarasota, Florida; son, Jon (Joanne) Shoemaker of Lansing, Michigan; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pauline was a lifetime member of Pennway Church of God, established in 1910. Her parents were one of several founding families. For many years, she was an active member of Sparrow Hospital Volunteers as well as several other volunteer organizations. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2:00 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing with Pastor John Davey of Pennway Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
