Obituary

Pauline F. (Rice) Blondin, 85, of Norwich passed to eternal life on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Norwichtown Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan 6, 1929, in Brattleboro, Vermont, daughter of the late George and Ada Rice. She was married for over 65 years to the late Robert D. Blondin. She was a woman devoted to the proper raising of her family. She nourished her family with genuine concern, sincerity, and love. She cheered for her boys through many sporting programs they followed. Pauline F. (Rice) Blondin, 85, of Norwich passed to eternal life on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Norwichtown Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan 6, 1929, in Brattleboro, Vermont, daughter of the late George and Ada Rice. She was married for over 65 years to the late Robert D. Blondin. She was a woman devoted to the proper raising of her family. She nourished her family with genuine concern, sincerity, and love. She cheered for her boys through many sporting programs they followed. Besides being a homemaker while raising her four sons, Polly retired from the State of Connecticut after 25 dedicated years of service. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. Polly was an avid reader, loved to knit or crochet and was a UCONN Basketball and NASCAR fan.
Her surviving four sons are, Dan Blondin of Norwich; Jim Blondin and his wife Sara of Blue Springs, MO; William Blondin and his wife Jeannine of Griswold; and Gary Blondin and his wife Kimberly of Colchester. She leaves her three grandchildren, Christian Blondin and his wife Amy of Ipswich, MA; Jeannette Blondin of Norwich; and Anne Marie Blondin of Cambridge, MA. She also leaves a great grandchild Stefanie Bromley of Norwich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her three sisters, Winona Flood of NC; Evelyn Comstock of FL; and Nancy Vigue of NH.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St, Norwich. Visitation will be starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich.
